Installation

STEP 1 - Setting up IIS 4.0

If IIS 4.0 has not been installed it can be installed from the NT 4 option pack.

Verify that the SMTP service is running. If the SMTP service is not running you will need to reinstall it from the IIS 4.0 install.

STEP 2 - Install Maxagrid Forecast Object

NOTE: This must be installed directly on the web server and may require a reboot of the server.

Extract the forecast object setup to the desktop. It is the attachment named WebbuyerDLL.exe, a self-extracting WinZip pointing at C:\Windows\Desktop.

Run the setup.exe

Click Ok on the welcome screen.

Click on the icon of the computer to install the Dll.

If the installation was successful you will be prompted to click OK.

Click OK and the installation is complete.

If a reboot is required, you will be informed by the install routine.

STEP 3 - Extracting the Web View files to the server

Extract the Web View Files into the appropriate directory. This directory should fall under the specified root folder of your website, typically this is c:\inetpub. The Web View files are the attachment named WebViewSiteFiles.exe which is a self extracting WinZip pointing to C:. (Ex. C:\inetpub\webView)

STEP 4 - Copy active system data to the web server

The data for the active Advanced Revenue Management System system should be copied to the web server.

Note: For security do not place this data in any of the website folders. The data files will need to be updated on the web server as often as fresh traffic is loaded. Ex. C:\aimsdata

STEP 5 - Configure site in IIS 4.0

Start Internet Service Manager (Start->Programs->Windows NT 4 Option Pack->Microsoft Internet Information Server->Internet Service Manager)

Verify that The SMTP Service is running

Verify that the main website that Web View will become part of is running.

Right Click on the site that Web View will become part of and select NEW-> Virtual Directory.

You will be prompted for the Alias that will be used for this virtual directory. (Ex. WebView) Click Next.

You will then be prompted for the physical path of the directory for this Virtual directory. (Ex. C:\inetpub\WebView) Click Next.

The next prompt will request the security preferences Allow Read Access and Allow Script Access should be checked. Click Finish.

Right click on the WebView alias in the IIS management tree and select properties. Verify that under the application settings section that the application name is not grayed out or says default application. If this is the case click the create button and give it the name used for the virtual directory.(Ex. WebView)

STEP 6 - Change Configuration Files for site

In windows explorer go to the web directory, c:\inetpub\webView, and open the Config folder. In this folder there is a file named config.inc open this file.

Look for a line that reads MG_DATAPATH = "xxxxxxx". The xxxxxxx should be replaced with the correct data path. (Ex. C:\aimsdata)

Look for a line that reads MG_ADMIN_EMAIL = "xxx@xxxx.com". The xxx@xxxx.com should be replaced with the administrators email address.

Look for a line that reads gstrCommerceURL = "www.xxxx.com/mmm". The www.xxxx.com/mmm should be replaced with the URL of this instance of the web View using the alias you specified in Step 5. (Ex. www.xxxx.com/WebView)

Look for a line that reads gstrSalesEmail = "sales@xxxx.com". The sales@xxxx.com should be replaced with the Email address of the sales managers that the orders and reservations should be sent to, multiple addresses can be specified by placing a semi-colon between each e-mail address.

Look for a line that reads gstrLogFileName = "xxxx\config\Logfile.txt". The xxxx should be replaced with the physical path of this copy of Web View. (Ex. gstrLogFileName = "c:\inetpub\webView\config\Logfile.txt")

Look for a line that begins with "MG_LOGO_GRAPHIC_NAME=XXXX". This line is where the logo graphic used at the top of each page is specified. The XXXX on this line should be replaced with the complete path and filename of the logo file to be used. This file should be either a GIF file or a JPEG file. (Ex. MG_LOGO_GRAPHIC_NAME = "c:\inetpub\webView\Logo.jpg")

Look for a line that begins with "MG_BGRND_GRAPHIC_NAME=XXXX". This line is where the background for each page is specified. The XXXX on this line should be replaced with the complete path and filename of the background image file to be used. This file should be either a GIF file or a JPEG file. (Ex. MG_BGRND_GRAPHIC_NAME = "c:\inetpub\webView\Back.jpg)

STEP 7 - Review and Change Text for Various Messages

In windows explorer return to the config folder and you will see 5 text files.

These files are:
ConfirmMessage.txt - Confirmation page text
OrderMessage.TXT - text describing reservation process
ReservationMessage.txt - text describing reservation process
SentMessage.txt - Text Displayed upon submittal of request
Logfile.txt - List of users that have logged into the site

All of these text files except for the logfile.txt can be modified to read different messages as the sales department sees fit. These files can and should contain basic HTML tags to maintain correct formatting.
